I love spending a Saturday night in with a glass of wine going through vacation pictures. It’s so much fun to look back on pictures and remember all the fun adventures we had. I’m very lucky to say this was my second time back to Shanghai. This city is amazing and huge! The closest city I can compare it to is New York City…. only so much bigger and so many more people. There are highrises as far as you can see in every direction. Shanghai is for sure a vertical city. We stayed at the JW Marriott in the Huangpu District near People’s Square. This location was perfect for sightseeing around the city. There is a metro stop a block away that takes you anywhere in the city in minutes. The metros in China are extremely clean and cheap and is the main way to get around the city. Taxis are also very cheap to get around although traffic can be really bad during rush hour.
Springtime in Shanghai was so beautiful. There were gorgeous flowers everywhere around the city. We tried to experience new things on this trip including the World Financial Center observation deck on the 100th floor and the Yu Garden in the center of Shanghai’s Old City. Hard to believe these beautiful gardens are over 400 years old. If you’ve ever thought about visiting Asia I would highly recommend Shanghai. This city is very easy for Americans to get around as most people in the restaurants and hotels speak a little bit of English. There is so much history in this city and the people are very friendly. Shanghai is the perfect example of East meets West. I can’t wait for my next trip back! Thanks for reading!
