Hello friends! Wow! It’s been forever since I’ve been able to write on my blog. So many life changes happening for me in the last few months it’s been hard to make some personal time for blogging and Instagram. My husband accepted an amazing job opportunity in San Francisco and moved in early June. I stayed back in San Diego trying to sell our house and rental property until we moved me, our dog and 2 cats up to SF on 4th of July weekend. Talk about craziness! Trying to balance showings on the house, working full time, dr appointments and the pregnancy my time was pulled very thin. So I took some much needed time off from social media to focus on the move. Now we are all settled into our new apartment in San Francisco and getting adjusted to life in the city. It’s been quite the change going from a big house in the suburbs to a small highrise apartment with our growing family. We’ve decided to rent for a year to decide on the best area to buy our next home. SF has so many little neighborhoods with different vibes we need to see which will be the best fit for us. It will be fun to experience new things in the city and surrounding areas. I look forward to lots of great memories in our new city!
Now onto the fun part… We’re 23 weeks along now with Baby T! I can hardly believe we’ll be 6 months on Saturday. It still honestly feels like a dream come true. For the longest time we didn’t think we’d ever have a baby. I am enjoying every moment of this pregnancy. I really wanted to be better about documenting my pregnancy on my blog but with all the changes the past few months I wasn’t able to keep up with the pictures and writing like I had originally planned. So I thought it would be fun to do a little “bumpdate” with where we are now in the pregnancy!
How far along: We are 23 weeks along right now, 24 weeks on Saturday! Where have the last 6 months gone!
Names for baby girl: We’re still undecided on this one. It’s so hard to agree on a name you both love. We have a few in mind but we may end up waiting until she’s here to decide. Either way we are not going to announce her name until she is here 🙂
How much weight gain: I’ve currently gained 9 lbs. I can still fit in a few pairs of my jeans, but I have bought 2 pairs of maternity jeans that I love. THESE white jeans are so comfy and sit below the belly. The side panels are stretchy so they will work throughout the pregnancy. I also am obsessed with THESE jeans from Pink Blush Maternity. These have a stretchy belly band that goes over the belly. I wasn’t sure if I would like these initially but as my belly grows they are more and more comfy. I wear these several times a week and are a steal at about $50.
Current symptoms: Lately I’ve been super tired and not sleeping very well. I think baby is going through a big growth spurt right now. I read that insomnia is a big issue during pregnancy so I think it’s getting me ready for being up a bunch during the night. THIS body pillow has been a savior and really helped me get some rest at night. I have also been having really bad heartburn the last month or two. Tums are my new best friend. Other than that I’ve been feeling really well and try to get out for long walks every day with my puppy.
Current cravings: I really have been fortunate during this pregnancy and I haven’t had any crazy cravings. I usually have such a sweet tooth but while pregnant I haven’t craved sweets or chocolate much at all. Every once in a while is all. I have been eating a lot more carbs than I usually do in my diet. I am just listening to my body and eating what I need when I need it. I am a snacker so I am usually eating every 2-3 hours during the day. I think this helps with cravings too since I’m always eating. I keep a protein bar in my purse so I always have an emergency snack on hand if we’re out and about for the day.
Nursery Decor: We’ve finally started to design baby girl’s nursery! The crib arrived this week and it seriously makes me smile every time I walk past and see it in her room. To think in a few short months there will be a precious baby girl sleeping in there. Makes my heart so happy! I will be doing a nursery reveal once everything is ready.
Other things I love: My hubby got me THIS book when we first found out we were pregnant. I’ve only been able to read a little bit of the book so far so I’m looking forward to catching up on my reading while taking some time off from work while we wait for baby girl to arrive.
I also just recently bought THIS book to help me prepare my fur baby for her new baby sister. Hoping this helps ease the transition for everyone.
I am totally obsessed with THIS lotion. It smells so good and so far no stretch marks. It’s a steal too for under $5! I always have several bottles on hand.
My absolute favorite baby store is Janie and Jack. They have the cutest little clothes ever! I just bought a bunch of things during their huge semi-annual sale. Their regular priced items can be a bit pricey so I always check out the sale racks whenever I run into one of their stores. They have another huge sale coming up in January too!
Thank you for following along with my pregnancy journey!
